Talkomatic 3.0
Today we launched Talkomatic version 3.0. The main new feature: Facebook login.
Talkomatic has always been loose with identity. When you enter, you can type in any name and location you want. If you want to be known in Talko as Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang, or Bilbo Baggins in The Shire, you can, and nobody will know who or where you really are unless you give it away while you’re chatting.
With version 3.0, that’s all still true. But now you have the option of logging in with your Facebook username and password. If you do, your Facebook name will appear in the chat room, linked to your actual Facebook profile page, so the people you’re chatting with can know that it really is you – or possibly your 11-year-old kid, if you left your laptop logged into Facebook, or maybe your cat walking across the keyboard – but in any case, it would be a lot harder for someone to spoof your identity in Talko than it was in the past.
But if you want to remain more or less anonymous and sit in a Talko chat room as Miley Cyrus or Thurston Howell III, go right ahead!
Talkomatic is open now and always at Talko.cc
