Radio Interviews: The Twin Cities Free-Net
In the mid 1990s I was board president, then executive director, of the Twin Cities Free-Net. The Free-Net was a novel idea in the Twin Cities in those days – in fact, the internet itself was just in the early stages of broad public awareness, and it was still mysterious to many people. During that period I was invited three times to talk about the Free-Net and the internet on the radio, and once on local TV news. I think that TV appearance is lost to posterity, but I taped the radio interviews off the air.
So here they are.
Interview on Minnesota Public Radio’s “Mid Morning” show with Greta Cunningham, May 30, 1995
Interview on the local Saturday Morning “Computer Talk” show, Oct 21, 1995. This interview also delves into my work on PLATO.
Second appearance on “Computer Talk”, when the Free-Net won Computer Talk’s “Website of the Week” award, Jan 3, 1996
