Finding a Faster Way to Fail

Paul MacCready solved the very challenging problem of human-powered flight by first realizing he needed a way to speed up the process of trying, failing, recovering, and trying something a little different. With the ability to iterate quickly, he created the Gossamer Condor in a matter of months, where others had been working for years and years.
