David R. Woolley is known as a pioneer in social media. As a student working at the University of Illinois PLATO system in the early 1970s, he launched the world’s first online community by creating the first general-purpose online forum and co-creating the first multi-user chat room. He is also a veteran in the field of computer-based training, having designed a variety of CBT authoring tools. In the 1990s he spearheaded the building of the Twin Cities Free-Net, an online community network designed to support the neighborhoods of the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area. He has held leadership and board positions in several organizations, including E-Democracy, Friends for a Non-Violent World, Warrior Films, and Minneapolis Friends Meeting.

In addition to his primary consulting work at Thinkofit designing websites and developing software, he is the Chief Software Architect at Celebrations of Life. He has produced radio shows, done voice-overs for public service TV and radio spots, and published a children’s book. He is a skilled writer, an avid and semi-professional photographer, an occasional cartoonist, founder of an annual award for high school students who exhibit spontaneous creativity, and probably the only person in the world who has created a video game for dolphins.
